Cooking More

So, I’m going back to the class that made me walk funny for 3 days last week: BODY BLASTERS. I feel like I just have to ride that bull. I used to work on toning my body by myself but that is no longer fun or challenging, so I rely on that class for that. I’ll probably do it by myself again in the future but now, I’m taking that class as if I was in college again LOL. I don’t think I’ll be badly sore this week. At first I was trying to act hard and I did get sore but it went away. I kept exercising and thank God for swimming pools and hot tubs!

The summer season is one of my favorite seasons of the year. I just like the whole feel of it. I get to do more cooking because I’m not working so much.
I have been planning meals and actually cooking them a lot lately. I thought about my life three years ago. I ordered pizza, we stopped by Arby’s to get dinner and we just ate what was easy (breakfast food, etc). I’m not a professional cook or do I wish to be. I just want to cook foods my family enjoys. Last night dinner was black beans, brown rice, stir fried zucchini with soy sauce and sesame seed oil (my husband actually liked my experiment LOL), sweet potatoes with almonds and broccoli (plain, so salt, oil or cheese added). I’ve been into tasting vegetables for what they are supposed to taste. I now believe why people who order out so much have difficulties maintaining a healthy weight – I was once on their shoes. Cooking takes time and planning but it’s worth the effort on the taste, on your waist and on the joy of eating what you like in the comfort of your own home. I’ll let you know how the class went tomorrow.
