Running 5 miles: a first, big time Deal

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

Yesterday I arrived at the gym a little earlier and with God's help I ran 5 miles non-stop. That was my first time ever and also the longest I've ran my entire life. I'm really thankful to God. I'm convinced that my body can do more than I give it credit. I'm also convinced that I can do all things through Christ who strenghthens me.I also noticed that in real life and in situations we can't run and look back because we lose our balance (I tried that yesterday LOL). If I am walking away (running away in my case) from a sedentary life, I can't keep looking back. I have to move forward looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith. I have to look at the great things God has prepared for me. I'm running towards health. I'm running towards a healthy, strong pregnancy. I'm running so my family no longer has to be okay living a sedentary life. It stops here, it stops in my generation.I'm convinced that this weight loss stuff is not vanity, it's about living an abundant life.

My Goals for this week:
{1} To burn at least 3,000 calories; (2,022 to go!)
{2} To get protein and dairy daily in my diet.
{3} Focus on behavior change, not on the numbers on the scale. Haven't touched the scale for 16 days, 5 more to go.
