Prontos pro Natal? Book Overload!

Sunday, December 21, 2008

E ai, todo mundo pronto pro natal? Eu mal posso esperar! Good night!

Book Overload

A good friend offered me three books on pregnancy and babies. I had to decline because I haven't really read the 8 books I have at the house on the same subject. My awesome husband made a good observation: I'm the kind of mom who's more inclined to read a blog or an article about a subject than to read a whole book. I agreed. I told my friend that every other moon I look at baby center or another site and read three graphs and that's about it for another week or so. I guess we have so much going on and most people expect us to work on baby stuff 24/7. It was the same thing when we were engaged. We did some planning when we first got engaged
but our plans got changed so much that we just got them finalized the week before the actual wedding. We're doing much more preparation for the baby unlike our wedding. We both just have other things we need to tackle before we hold our son in our arms. A couple of months ago we donated a lot of the books we have read so we have a manageable number of books around. I got free from having too many books at the house by listening to Oprah & Friends on XM. The organizer guy said that if you love books so much you take care of them, you don't have so many that you can't properly care for them and store them. I agreed and decided I was going to keep only the books I need. Once you get your house clean and organized it's hard to fill it with stuff you won't honestly use. The trick is to be honest, yet loving when declining things. On other news, we're excited about spending Christmas with my brother, my sister-in-law and my nieces :) It's gonna be a Brazilian dinner, that's even more exciting! My first Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner in the same year! My children will highly benefit from it, trust me. My plan is to work out at least twice this week. I'll get back to more ambitious goals next week. Merry Christmas and thanks for reading!
