The Excuse-Free Life

Ants are destroying this country...
Ants at work by Seth Teeters

As humans we often give up the great for the good. I think that one of the main ways we get that done is through Excuses. Consider the word Excuse as "to seek or obtain release for oneself."

Now, let's consider creatures that do not make excuses (as far as I know):
"Ants—they aren’t strong, but they store up food all summer." (Proverbs 30:25 NLT)
Consider their ways:
"Without leader, administrator, or ruler, it prepares its provisions in summer; it gathers its food during harvest. How long will you stay in bed, you slacker? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the arms to rest, and your poverty will come like a robber, your need, like a bandit." (Proverbs 6:7-11 HCSB)
Poverty doesn't always mean money. I know a lot of people who are poor in health, poor in other important things in life such as healthy relationships.
Dear friend, you and I are in the summer season of our lives and it is not too late to start preparing provisions. Can you think of one way you can do that? Ants take small steps but they gather a lot because they have a clear goal and purpose. Think about your health. Taking small steps such as including more exercise in your week will make a huge impact in your life in the long haul. Think about small steps you can take in other areas of your life.
I want to encourage you not to give up the good for the great. There will be other red tag sales. The movie on TV will be repeated more times so you can use those 2 hours to take solid steps towards your dream.
There is still time to make a major difference in your life this year. Get up and do it my friend.
