Straight Talk on Hope

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12

God is a God of Hope and a source of Hope.  We need to be connected with God in order to have hope. We all have given up hope at one point and time. Often, we are the ones who give up, God never does. He’s the source of hope, that’s why He can give it to us. I encourage you to be connected to God when you need Hope.

I don’t know what you are dealing with today but the God of hope wants you to know He hasn’t given up on you. God so loved you that He not only sent you His only begotten Son but He gave you His Holy Spirit which gives you confident hope. The Bible says that you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

"Return to the stronghold [of security and prosperity], you prisoners of hope;
even today do I declare that I will restore double your former prosperity to you."
Zechariah 9:12

We can all be emprisoned by hope. We can be sentenced to expect the promises of God. It’s in our DNA because of father Abraham we too are sons and daughters of faith. Because of what Jesus has done for us. We have freedom from the sin, lack of hope and desperation that we lived in. Some of us are still living under guilt, condemnation and unbelief. Yes you do believe in Jesus as your savior, you are going to heaven but when it comes to hoping in God for healing, deliverance from addictions, the salvation of loved ones or for things concerning your future, your hope is close to gone. Your heart is sick because hope has been deferred. God wants to tell you today that He hasn’t changed His mind concerning His promise.

Hope in God. Repent from unbelief and give yourself to God today. Believe, things are going to get better and your longing will be fulfilled.
