Christmas Decades from Now

I reflect a lot before, during and after Christmas. I reflect on the Holy Scriptures as well as the culture surrounding me. Here are a few of my thoughts:
Jesus had the best birth announcement ever. I don't think that the cards I send out, videos I make and the small town newspaper announcements can beat the grandioseness of heaven joining earth in celebration.
Christmas is a season of giving, not doubt about that. I wonder if we will be generous year-round. Time is the most precious gift of all.
When you look back at all the preparations you made for the season, would you change anything? I wonder what will really make a difference 15, 30 years from now. Is it the deal you got on your gifts? Is it the food you ate? Is it about family coming together? What if we start preparing for Christmas with the fact that our priority should be that which makes a difference decades from now.
I pray you had a great Christmas. Christ was born. That my friends, is what really matters to me.
