The Leftover Gift

The party is over but not all boxes have been unwrapped. There's still a little green box left unopened in the corner of the room. It might be because of its outside appearance, it may be because no one was paying attention. One thing is for sure: a gift, no matter how big or small, is still a gift.
Friendships are gifts and it's up to us to unwrap them. The best of friendships might still need to be unwrapped. They may be sitting in the corner of a room, closed because no one was paying attention. The purpose of a gift is to be received for it is not even a gift until it's given.
Is there an unwrapped gift in the corner of your life?
Forrest Gump's mom said "Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get." I believe that friendships are like a box of your favorite chocolate. You are going to get something amazingly enjoyable. I believe that God created a special place in our heart for friendships. It's amazing how something so simple like that little unopened green box can bring so much joy in our lives.
Look around one more time: is there an unwrapped gift in the corner of your life? I dare you to open it.
