Can I run a Marathon?

Monday, May 4, 2015

The answer to the question "Can I run a marathon" must have been buried in my subconscious when I signed up for my first Chevron Houston Marathon. I honestly just went for it, sign up and waited to see if I made it through the old lottery.
The Old Lottery and my optimism.
I was surrounded by my kids when I received my confirmation so they all celebrated with me. What an amazing journey it has been!

Tomorrow, May 6, the Guaranteed & Charity Entries Registration opens for the Chevron Houston Marathon and the Aramco Houston Half Marathon. Guaranteed entries include: Deferrals, Legacy Runners, 5-9 year Finishers, Time Qualifiers, and Run for a Reason charity entries. Please to go their website for more information.

I want to challenge you with that same question and answer buried in my subconscious a few years ago: "Can you run the Chevron Houston Marathon or the Aramco Houston Half Marathon?" The answer is a loud "YES!"

When you say Yes, you are not thinking about the process but the possibilities. The marathon is a great way to conquer yourself. There will be fears to be conquered and obstacles on the way. There will also be a greater faith that you can do what once seemed impossible. Because of your YES, many other areas of your life will benefit.

Yes, I am totally encouraging you to sign up for those wonderful races. They changed my life for the better and I know that your life will be improved too. If can't register on May 6, wait till the open registration starts on June 3 and give yourself a vote of confidence and faith. I can't wait to hear just how your life is transformed.
