Chevron Houston Marathon 2017 Training Week 3

Wednesday, July 13, 2016

Marathon training is surrounded by life and life surrounds marathon training. Runners know how to balance the reality of life with the intensity of marathon training. In my reality, beginnings are celebrated and I will take the chance to start well.
I saw this sign during one of my runs and I thought, there's no better place to start than here and now. Marathon training teaches me to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Even if I stop, I can always start fresh as the miles roll in.
Group run on Saturday was super hot, but that's now news. The news is that I ran 8 miles. I know, there's no reason to do it, I just wanted to tag along with my Fall marathon training friends. I am thinking about cutting back next week and sticking with lower mileages just so I can save my legs for cooler temps.
At this point in the marathon training game, I am focusing on getting on the training mindset. I need to be positive with myself from the inside out. This body that God gave me is the same body that will take me to the finish line at the Houston Marathon.
I wrote a little inspirational post on Facebook about running. I hope you enjoy it!

"Tomorrow we run. It's no secret that I love running. I love how it opens my lungs and it clears my head. I love how it kicks stress' behind like nothing else. I love all the wonderful community of runners who became dear friends. Tomorrow we run. Today, wether good or bad, was while tomorrow is to come. I'm glad that tomorrow we run. "

Do join us as we run the Chevron Houston Marathon!
