Weight Watchers: eating at work

Friday, March 23, 2018

50 hours is the average amount of time I spend at work, commute included. It seems like a lot of it, if it wasn't for the time I'm not there, the other 114 hours of my week.
Numbers help me put things in perspective. We've all heard working women say, I do well with my diet when I'm at work, being home is the problem. For others, eating at work is a constant struggle.
I remember going to the kitchen at past places of employment and finding the best desserts one can imagine.
Nowadays I'm learning to manage such food choices.
This week I prepared my food ahead of time and I packed all my lunches for the week. I even took most of the food to work so I don't have to pack it everyday. I'm thinking about doing the same thing next week.
I also took snacks (pears, tangerines, apples, bananas) with me daily, which helped me a lot. My goal is not to completely ignore the food offerings at work, my desire is to manage that decision making process.
I believe that if I learn to make good food choices, I will be more likely to reach my goal and to succeed for life. I can't hide myself from food all around me. I can educate myself to decide what's best for me.
My tracking this week is going well. Preparing my food ahead of time has been great because I can go ahead and track it so I don't have to worry about it later. I'll be honest with you, I thought about tracking by writing things down but I won't do that just yet. There is a clear difference for me when I write things down versus when I enter them on the app. Writing it down is super effective for me.
My goal for the upcoming week is to stay the course and do the daily habits that will help me reach my goal. I want to track. I want to exercise and I want to better manage my food decisions. A tricky one is eating well when everyone at one is eating fast food. I've learned to always have veggies and rice and beans available. Having a great option is key. Thank you for reading my friend and keep joining me in this journey to better health!

Goal for the week: Track 7 days with the ww app. Exercise at least 4 times.
