New Month Old Problems

Thursday, November 1, 2018

I'm in this new month and my old problems followed me here.
Life is not easy. I am glad God is always there to encourage me.

This morning I read this:

"The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous." Psalm 146:8 (ESV)

I find great encouragement in knowing that God can lift me up. When the burden of challenges are heavy, God is the lifter of my head (Psalm 3:3).

I convinced myself that it is impossible to get uplifted outside of God. He must come first.

In times like the ones I'm living, I am determined to seek God first. That means I put my phone away and I pray and read the Bible first thing in the morning. That also means I stay focused on God throughout the day. I use less and less of my phone for leisure so that I can be effective in the things God called me to do.

I occupy my mind with the things of God. I'm a fan of audio books and of course, uplifting music. Any help I can get to remind myself of how God sees me is welcome.

I don't know if you feel like I do. It's a new month but the old problems made themselves available again. Remember that God will uplift you. He is the lifter of your head. Look to Him. Your help comes from the Lord.
