Choices

I ran out of snacks at work. Usually I don’t stack them in my drawers, I bring them as I go to work. It would be a better idea to stack on nuts, crackers (to eat with peanut butter) and bring fruit as I come to work. One think I always have at work is tea. Today my choices were few. I thought my shake from last week would be okay today (bad idea). So I was left with the following choices:

The snack machine - I didn’t have any change therefore I didn’t even consider it. Machines are not big deal for me, I don’t usually spend money on those cause I know I can get a much better deal in the store.
Leftover cake – someone left some sheet cake in the kitchen. I thought about getting it, but I thought I could do much better than cake (nutritionally, in numbers of calories and in flavor). I’m no hero, I did it through Christ.
Ice cream – there’s ton of ice cream in the freezer at work. Thank God I’m not an ice cream person and it stays in the freezer, therefore I forget it’s there.

I decided to wait two more hours til I got home to eat. I got some green tea and I decided to fill up in H2O.

It would be wise to go ‘snack shopping.’ I could get the following:

For work:
Rice cakes. I like plain rice cakes but most time I eat them with peanut butter.
Trail mix. I like the ones with cranberries and nuts in it.
Nuts. I like to keep peanuts at work. I like cashews, walnuts, pecans, almonds.
Baby carrots. I love the sweetness of them missed with peanut butter. Yeah, I love organic, fresh grinded peanut butter.
Celery. Require preparation at home but when I take it to work, I eat it with peanut butter.
Cottage cheese. I love the way it tastes. I usually eat it with break. I’ve seen the way it’s used in America (with fruit dip) but I rather eat it in a salad or with whole wheat bread.
Cheese. Good source of calcium. I enjoy eating cheese and crackers with tea.
Granola bars. I haven’t had them in a while. I’ve been focusing more on fruits and nuts for snack. In a day like today, they would be much better than old cake!
* Peanut butter for me was an acquired taste. I didn’t like it at all when I first came to the States. I still don’t like the processed ones you can get anywhere. My husband loves PB cookies but I like the raw, organic product.

For home
Sugar free Jell-O. It’s a winner for dessert. I sometimes eat it with whip cream.
Fruit. I love all kinds of fruit, especially bananas.

All that’s left for me to say is: let’s go snack food shopping?
