Favorite Apps: iPad 2

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

I was blessed with an iPad 2 last month and I have been putting it to great use daily. I wanted to share some of my favorite Apps knowing that there are so many others out there and I'll keep discovering them. Here's what I've been enjoying:

Business
- I have Podcasts on the blog some times and GarageBand is what I use to do interviews. The sound quality is fantastic and I am very pleased with it. I used Keynote (presentations) to do a Social Media presentation for Social Workers in Haywood County, NC last month. I can no longer live without this app on my fingertips.
Blogging - WordPress is simply divine. I tend to post more on Mom Perspective when I'm on the go because this app makes it so easy. I'm eagerly waiting for the Blogger app (please?). iMovie is also a great tool for me because I'm always thinking visually.
Writing - Notes is a built-in app I use often. It's not flashy, it doesn't cook dinner for me but it works.  Neu.notes is a fun note taking app. My son got into this one with me and I often make Zeke laugh with my creations.
Home - When we were looking for homes in Houston, we used Zillow. This app is such a beast, I think you should try it out for yourself. Another app I put in the "beast" category is Grocery iQ. I have always dreamed of organizing my grocery list by isles, now this baby does it for me. This amazing app even scan products for you. I know! Amazing! For great ideas on what to cook, Epicurious does an amazing job. I am truly enjoying HomeBudget Lite for my budgeting needs. I found it easier to use than other free apps available.
Others - I use Skype on a daily bases to communicate (and interview) with people from all over the world. My standard news app is the NYT of course although they're charging you to read a little bit more. I go there for headlines mostly tough. Flipboard is just beautiful. I use it for reading, I have friends who use it for posting on social networks. Diigo Browser fits my Chrome needs and I am having a lot of fun with Pixlr-o-matic.

There are many more apps. I did my homework and got my list from @clegault so I am ready to conquer the world. Now it's your turn, what apps you can't live without?
