Protected: Raise your Shield

Thursday, May 30, 2013

A shield is a type of personal armor, meant to intercept attacks, either by stopping projectiles such as arrows or redirecting a hit from a sword, mace, battle axe or similar weapon to the side of the shield-bearer. A broad piece of armor, varying widely in form and size, carried apart from the body, usually on the left arm, as adefense against swords, lances, arrows, etc.
This was such a simple but powerful image. I have the shield of faith but it is worthless unless it is raised. I am encouraged to raise the shield of faith today as I go through different circumstances. I am also encouraged to feed my faith instead of fears today. I am wondering if your shield of faith needs to be lifted today. Read Ephesians 6:10-20 (NKJV).
