Remembering

Remembering is an important subject to me. I am focusing on what God has to say about humans remembering Him.
It's been fascinating. I've heard someone say that the Scriptures do not leave us without hope. I am finding that to be true. Each time I show up and read the Bible, my hope level goes all the way up.

I've had casual conversations with acquaintances about developing and maintaining a Bible reading habit. The number one excuse people give me is "distractions."

Distractions stop us from going to the Bible as a habit. Distractions stop us from connecting with God's faithful words. Distractions stop us from being connected to our source of hope. Distractions stop us from remembering.

I'm sure you will believe me if I tell you that none of this is a surprise to God. In the Bible, God helped us to deal with distractions. Yeah, I know, Moses was not working with Tiktok or Instagram. People did have distractions back then.

I'm encouraged that God in His magnificence encouraged us to teach, write, wear, post the word of God as an act of remembering it (Deut. 4, 11; Exodus 13).

I am working on remembering God. I am committed to let go of distractions so I can look unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of my faith. I am determined not to let go of the habit of daily reading, meditating and studying His word. It is good. It is my very life.
