Hope

“This I recall to my mind,

Therefore I have hope.

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,

Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning;

Great is Your faithfulness.

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,

“Therefore I hope in Him!”

Lamentations 3:21-24

One year ago I took a beautiful risk and resigned from a full-time job. Today, I am focusing on the hopeful side of job searching. I realize I could recall the bad but this I recall to mind, therefore I have hope:
• I learned a lot about job searching. Employers are enhancing the way they describe positions. I learned to see if I am a good fit.
• I found rest and peace. It took a while but I got there.
• I finetuned my ability to walk in a room and have discernment. This skill doesn’t come when I already have a job.
• I learned not to use other people as thermometers for what I should do with my career. Most often than not, God and myself should guide this important part of life.
• I found time to take care of my health in sustainable ways.
• I am finding God to be my portion and my daily hope.
I am sure that God has a place for me. I will wait in peace and hope for that.
Thank you for listening.
