• Relationships are what we make them. Each person is responsible for one side of the relationship. We all carry our hurts, scars and pain. We carry joy, encouragement and peace too. We transmit all of that as interact in our relationships. Truly, we express what we went through. That’s why healing is so important. I am learning that the more I go to God for healing, the better my relationships with others can be.
• Only God can give me unadulterated love. He loves first and beyond measure. I am fully satisfied in His love. I am learning to grow in the awareness and acceptance of His incredible love for me. He loves me just as I am. He sent His Son Jesus to die for my sins. He rose victorious for my salvation. I’m incredibly grateful for God’s love for me.
• My family loves me beyond measure. They love me without prerequisites. They love me for who I am, not for who they want me to be. We are for one another. We champion one another. We were trained to encourage one another to pursue God’s best for our lives always. There’s peace when I live and experience this reality of family life.
• Every Christian is commanded to forgive. I was taught that forgiveness is not an option. I searched the Scriptures for myself and found it to be true. The more I understand forgiveness, the more I gladly choose it.
• Asking for forgiveness and showing repentance does not mean reconciliation. I experienced a complete shut down in friendships as a result. I am grateful for those lessons. Romans 12:18 became real during such times. As far as it is up to me, I was at peace with everyone. What everyone does in response to my request for forgiveness is outside of my control. Obedience to God is within my control.
• Encouragement flows naturally as I truly listen to people. Listening requires stillness of mind and heart. It says, I have time for you. I am open to what you have to say, whatever it is.
• The more I read the Bible, the more I want to read it. This past week I read several passages repeatedly. I enjoyed reading and studying, learning and growing. I encourage you to truly invest time in the Word of God this week. It will transform your mind, if you allow it to do so.
