Why Priorities Matter

I am on a journey of finding out what my Sweet Spot is for this season. While I discern and do exactly that, I was somewhat surprised when some opportunities came my way. I had the honor of filling in for a friend and offering the devotional for our MOPS group last week, which was pretty cool. I also have the honor of leading a small Bible study at church and a one-on-one discipleship class via Skype with a friend in Brasil.
I'm quickly finding out that there is always the temptation to 'over do it.' I am challenged to keep going back to God to remember what my priorities are. In my case, my relationship with God, my husband and my kids take priority over everything else. Functioning in my Sweet Spot is easier when my priorities are in check. I actually feel like I can serve God (and everyone else) better when I'm refreshed by being in God's presence and I am maintaining a healthy marriage and family life.
When God calls you out, will you have your priorities in order? When God calls you out to be blooming in your Sweet Spot, will you be able to give yourself completely to it because your priorities  are in place?
My encouragement for you today is to take a refresher course on Priorities and see if it makes a difference in your life.
"But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides."
 Matthew 6:32-34 (AMP)
