No Shame on my Game

The Diet Blog had an awesome post on Shame. It talks about reality tv shows and how they shame constestants to thinness :) That approach doesn't work. At least not for me. Here's a brief part of that post:

"Researchers at Yale University found that women who were successful at losing weight and keeping it off were those who recognized their problem behaviors, initiated action by accessing a support system, and experienced increased self confidence and self-esteem. As anyone who has tried and failed to lose weight knows, the shame is already there. We need less shame and more self esteem to build confidence on our journey to a healthy lifestyle. Here's how we get there:
I have ran away from people who tried to shame me into losing weight in the beginning of my journey. Guilt and shame are not a great way of living. On top of that, there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Run away from people who are constantly looking over your shoulder while you eat in order to bring you guilt and shame. Run to people who are encouragers and have kind words of encouragements. If you don't have anyone like this, encourage yourself in the Lord. Have an awesome weekend with no shame on your game.
