Honesty

My wonderful husband made the executive decision to get us a gym membership. Day 4 in the new workout routine is going great. I feel the old aches that come with working out because some of my muscles haven’t been used that way in a while (hello back muscles!).
I want to lose at least 8 lbs by December 7th. I’ll keep everyone updated foreal this time. I also want to do a before photo (no matter how embarrassing it may be) and give you as many stats as possible. That’s a great way to be accountable.
We have not committed to a weight loss support group because of schedule and money as well. My support comes from my husband primarily. Yesterday he reminded me not to have two starches for dinner – that was HUGE! – because I served grilled steak, curry rice, curry vegetables and oven potatoes. It actually put a smile on my face that he’s paying attention to what we eat.
I weigh in on Monday at 189 pounds. My short term goal is to be down to 181 by December 7th. The long term goal is to be 157 lbs by April 7th, 2010. That’s not my pre-pregnancy weight but it’s pretty close.
My secondary support systems come from podcasts, mainly:
I highly encourage everyone to subscribe to both podcast because they have very good advice, that will lead to sensible and long lasting weight loss.
I have been lifting weights daily along with the cardio workout. For the cardio, I’m aiming at stacking up on 3 miles a day, whether on the treadmill or elliptical. Today I realize that if I read magazines while working out I don’t pay attention on pushing myself to become faster. I watch the news (the only time of the day I do) and today I even ran for a couple of times. I’d love to run 3 miles daily on top of doing my free weight routine. I still haven’t had the courage to do sit-ups.
My Little Prince is asleep, so I gotta take a shower and get some more things done.
Thanks for reading and please encourage me when you can.
P.S.: The reason why you can’t leave comments is because my template is messed up. As soon as I get in touch with blogger you’ll see that option  here. The best way right now is to e-mail me. Thanks and I’m sorry about that.
Goals for the week:
1. Workout 5 times (3 out of 5 done)
2. Lift weights 3 times (3 out of 3 done)
3. Drink 32 oz of water daily (3 out of 7 done)
4. Weigh myself once a week (189 lbs on 11/09/09)
5. Watch portions, eat when hungry (so far so good)
