While I Wait: Finding Balance
the series

I've been singing in church for 24 years. It took me having my second child and dropping the mic for a season to gain a lesson in balance.
I learned that true worship doesn't require a microphone. Worship is between God and Cintia. The Bible says that "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." John 6:24 (NIV) See? No microphone required, just pure worship from my heart to God's.
While the mic was down, I remembered that all Christians have a great commission to fulfill:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:20 (KJV)
Besides praising God I need to do those the things that Jesus taught us. He never told me that if I just sing in church I'd be okay.
As I look at Jesus' ministry I see how balanced He was. He wasn't just working miracles 24/7. He taught, blessed children, helped the poor, hung out with tax collectors, He even went to visit Lazarus and his sisters. The thing was, He always had ministry opportunities, even when he fell asleep on the boat and everyone else was freaking out. What a powerful life Jesus lived. He never seemed desperate, He was so in touch with the Father that life was just really worth living. May my life reflect the balance He had while living on earth.
As a human being I get desperate. I feel like I'm missing something because of the mom stage. Jesus never got desperate before he turned 33. He just went on worshiping God and being submissive.
You probably get desperate sometimes. Trying to make up for lost time in life. Trying to hurry God. You and I need to relax and learn from Jesus. Even as He rested there were opportunities that came to Him. I think sometimes we can get so paranoid trying to get the big opportunity that we don't live life to the fullest. What if the big opportunity comes while you're resting?
I thank God for teaching me to worship in spirit and truth. I want to thank God for motherhood and the season to change diapers, give baths {because someone decided to play in the toilet} and for the ministry opportunities that pop-up for full-time mommies like me.

Prayer: God, there's no better place than the place You provided for me right now. May I relax in it, be thankful and be willing to see the opportunities you keep sending my way. I appreciate your perfect plan in my life. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.
