Can I Learn More about Social Media?

I'm your Host
Last night I hosted the 2nd Haywood County Social Media Workshops at Blue Ridge Books in Waynesville, NC. I want to thank the speakers as well as everyone who attended.
I started the workshops and I am thankful to see businesses, individuals and non-profits coming together and learning more about Social Media. It has been a dream of mine coming true and I am thankful!
Last night @KrisEstep talked about Podcasts. I love Podcasts and I want to start one. Kris made it so simple! My favorite quote of his from last night was "Podcasting is blogging with a voice." How awesome is that? I took lots of notes and you will see me implement what I learned here at
Staying Connected on Twitter
We also had a great session on Digital Video taught by Josh Harris from Harris Films. I'm already sold on the importance of having a strong presence online when it comes to videos. What Josh taught us all last night is how aggressively businesses are using YouTube and we should do the same. He also made it very easy to use different cameras, edit, upload and get your message out there in digital video form. I was very blessed to get some extra coaching at the end of the night from Josh Ryan and Leah from The Leah Vlog. These guys are amazing with digital videos!
Daphne Carson from Mountain BizWorks was so gracious to come over and talk to us about the opportunities they offer. Daphne reminded me of the 7th Annual Women's Business Conference. It's May 27th at ABTech, Enka Campus. I want to attend and get some more knowledge about business as well as connect with other business owners from this area.

Anna Eason talked about Facebook & Twittiquette
Our main speaker was Anna Eason from TaMollie Media. She talked about Facebook and Twitter for Business. I am heavily involved in both social media platforms but I learned a lot of new things from Anna. I even shared what I learned with my husband!
Our next workshop is scheduled for April 5th at 6:30 p.m. We are going to be at The Gateway Club in Waynesville, NC. The main topic is "Monetizing Social Media." We are encouraging everyone to bring their laptops and smart phones so we can practice what we learned last night. For more information and to register, click here
I am also teaching a Blogging 101 class at the end of April in partnership with the Haywood County Public Library. I have friends who want to take a class but are states away from me so I am working on teaching this class online. Come back for more details!
I am just thankful today. I enjoy helping others and that's exactly what I am doing with these workshops. Have a great day!
