Luke 24:13-32 tells us about the Walk to Emmaus. Today, I have the privilege to tell you about my heart's desire for the Emmaus Kind of Friendship.

"So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them." (Luke 24:15 NKJV)
I dream of friendships where this exact thing happens. While we are conversing and reasoning, Jesus Himself draws near and goes with us. The two people in the Bible were talking about events and they were actually sad, they had lost hope. I am amazed at how God cares so much about us that He is with us in such ordinary moments of life. While we're walking and talking, there He is.

In the Bible story, their eyes were restrained. My hope and prayer is that my eyes are never restrained, that I may recognize and see Jesus always.

Oh the amazing things that happen when Jesus is part of friendships! Seeing the Scriptures through His eyes, constraining Him to stay, breaking bread together. This speaks of real fellowship with God while in friendship with another.
Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:15, 32 NKJV)
My prayer is to keep my heart open and attentive to the presence of God while sharing in friendship with others.
