How NOT to be Bankrupt

Thursday, July 19, 2012

It seems that there is no end in our giving. We give to our families, bosses, strangers... people are always requiring something from us. They are making withdraws constantly. The problem with continuous withdraws without deposits is that you end up Bankrupt.
What are the signs that you may be Bankrupt? You may be irritable, tired, you might snap easily in a normal situation. Your health may be suffering too. Your body is just not working the way it should. You are at the end of your road and yet, you feel like you have to keep going.
If you are anywhere close to Bankrupt today, I want to encourage you to make Smart Deposits that will change your situation.
Prayer - in the last part of Luke 8 we see that many were pressing against Jesus and not all of them truly touched him except for one woman. "But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me” Luke 8:46. She had the kind of faith that could not go unnoticed: she was instantly healed because of her faith. I wonder if you have applied your faith to your situation. Prayer is the way to touch Jesus. He is pleased with your faith in Him.
Time Management - you are the master over your schedule. Take a serious look an decide how you can make your schedule work out for your benefit. Are there any time wasters there? These would be the things that are not taking you closer to your goals. It is true that we are pushed and pulled in different directions but your schedule is the true way to find out if you are getting closer or further away from your goals. Please be mindful that Rest needs to be part of your schedule for your health and well-being.
Other People - take your cape and superhero gear off and remember that you don't have to do everything because you can't. The Bible says we are part of His body and we all have a function (I Corinthians 12). When the nose tries to be the brain, things get messy. I have written on How to Overcome the Fear of Asking for Help I pray that you can benefit from the diverse resources God has placed around you.
I want to encourage you to put yourself on the road to recovery from being Bankrupt. I pray that you are honest with yourself and you can use these three tips to your advantage. Have an amazing day!
