Keeping a Food Journal is like facing the calories. I must admit that I don't like that at all. I've been successful at it before but I keep losing the habit of writing. I bought this cutesy little journal to help me lose weight after having my third precious child in June of last year.
At times I write things down and take photos so my Instagram followers can see what I am going.Other times I start the day with the best intentions to keep journaling but I just don't.
Everything is supposed to go there: water, coffee, exercise, even sugar-free gum.
Going out to eat is challenging because I'm not sure how many calories is in lamb, roasted veggies and babaganoush. I mostly write down what I ate.
Through thick and preferably thin, my food journal is supposed to help me be accountable to the amount of quality of food I am putting in my digestive system.
My only requirement is that this kind of journaling does not last forever. I believe that at some point I will be able to live free from food journaling, only going back to it when I need to recalibrate.
This week my challenge is to write on my food journal, take a photo of my complete assignment and post it on Instagram. My account is private there, so I think I'll come back here in a week and tell you if I was successful. This is my week to face the calories and my hope is to find out that fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains will help me have a healthy week.
