Psalms about Family

Friday, May 3, 2013

I joined a Bible study a couple of weeks ago and we've been studying the book of Psalms. Today I noticed a couple of passages about family. I used these scriptures before to pray over my own family but today I found a lot of comfort in reading them. God's Word is filled with blessings that we can believe for our families!
Children: our Heritage and reward.

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate." Psalm 127:3-5
• As parents, we have heritage and a reward from the Lord. I am happy, my hands are fill of mighty arrows and I shall not be ashamed.

"Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the Lord." Psalm 128:1-4
• I often prayed and confessed the last part of this passage but today I noticed the part about the wife. I can now say that I am a fruitful vine in the very heart of my house. My husband is blessed, he is happy and all will go well with our family.

I was wondering if you have ever used Bible scriptures and applied to your family. Confessing the Word of God over your family is powerful and effective. I encourage you to do that and see how God is faithful to His Word. Have a blessed weekend!
