Sermon Notes: Embrace the Greater

Monday, June 3, 2013

Yesterday at church the sermon was really relevant to me. Our pastor kept emphasizing through different scriptures that we should
One of the Scriptures Pastor used was Isaiah 43:16-21. Here's a portion of it:
16 18
The Lord says, “Forget what happened before,

and do not think about the past.
19
Look at the new thing I am going to do.
It is already happening. Don’t you see it?
I will make a road in the desert
and rivers in the dry land.

Here's my Takeaway:
• It's my choice to let go of the lesser to embrace the greater. In my case, in order to see the new thing that God is doing, I need to forget what happened before and do not think about the past. In my case, it's a Total Forgiveness issue.
• Everywhere I turn there are messages about Forgiveness being preached. One of my favorite preachers talked about Victory over Unforgiveness recently. I'm going to be reviewing this message this week in addition to my church's sermon. I believe it's important to totally forgive in order to enjoy an abundant life. It is easier said than done but I want to enjoy God's blessings and walk in obedience, so Forgiveness is something I am taking seriously.
• Your issue might not be Unforgiveness like mine is but I was wondering, what is your lesser? What can you let go in order to embrace the greater that God has for you?
