The clock rings midnight and we are all asleep. The first day of the new year was very much like the last day or the old ones. One of the kids said, "but I don't feel like I'm in the new year mamãe!"
I agree with them. I can totally relate to their feelings.
The truth is, God has given us a chance to live in a new year.
2019 will be what God wants it to be because He is in control. God in His infinite wisdom, also gave us a lot of control over what happens between our ears.
If we think we are living in the past, our actions will follow those thoughts.
If by faith, we think we are living God's best, our actions will follow our faith.
When I'm tempted to think that the old me will be unchallenged by the change in the calendar, I remember my faith. It informs me that I walk by faith and not by sight.
I also remember my God. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all I can ask or think. Now that's a reason to rejoice and be glad in each day I live.
I'm here to remind you that you have a big God.
I'm here to encourage you to put your faith in Him, not in your circumstances.
Your circumstances can change at any moment. God, He stays the same and His years never end. Because He stays the same, He stays good, kind, merciful and faithful.
You don't have to feel like you're in the new year. You do have to lift up eyes and behold all the goodness God has stored for you in this new year He has graciously given you.
