Post-pandemic life: I am Grateful

Tuesday, May 18, 2021

I've been thinking a lot about how things were last year. One year ago, the kids never went back to school after Spring Break. We spent the summer cautiously observing our local mandates and guidelines.

We faced the Fall with faith. Faith that God was going to help and protect us.

During our morning prayers, I remember the kids praying that God would bless the world with healing, a vaccine.

Today we have been grateful that vaccines have been developed and distributed. We're not completely over the pandemic but we are no longer where we once were. For that, we are grateful.

I am grateful to God for life. Many did not live through this pandemic. We have life, family and a God-given purpose. I feel immense hope.

I am grateful to God for public education. Our teachers give so much of themselves without receiving all that they deserve back. I am not sure where we would be without teachers.

I am grateful to God for health. Taking care of ourselves has always been important but now, even more. Health truly is wealth.

I am grateful to God for my family. The love and care we share got us through some tough spots. I know that no matter what, I can always count on them.

Have you thought about how life was a year ago? What are you grateful for today?

Tomorrow, I want to tell you about using our time during and after the early pandemic months.
