Sunday Seven

Listen here:

Sunday Seven is a collection of lessons learning this past week.

 1. I can focus on my circumstances. I can also focus on God's brilliance. I dealt with quite a bit of disappointment. I kept telling myself that God was brilliant. He didn't say no but it was definitely a not yet.

2. CrossFit can be humbling. It's not like riding a bike on flat pavement. It's more like trying to cross the Smokies from North Carolina to Virginia. Mechanics are everything. Listening to my coach is everything. I’m determined to persist, learn and get better. You need technique, mechanics, and a great amount of persistence. I'll get there.

3. I started watching the PBS Documentary "Eyes on the Prize" again. It is a great way to remember, honor, and respect the legacy of African Americans in this country. It also gives me a lot of hope. Be sure to watch it if you haven't.

4. Chicago with my husband was blissful. Traveling with Zeke adds levity to our lives. We travel because God created a beautiful world and we have the honor to see it with our own eyes.

5. Forgiveness is the bedrock of advancing in Godly character. Forgiveness is not an option. It takes humility to forgive. It also takes great love toward God who gave us the commandment and the blessing that forgiveness brings. I pray that I can always walk in this blessing.

6. I'm learning that it takes great resolve to follow through with dreams. Someone else can't do it for you. Also, your circumstances won't magically change due to your resolve to do what you need to do for God.

7. My friends demonstrated great compassion towards me this past week. There are no photos of such things because most of our interactions are kept private on purpose. I appreciate my friends. They listen to me. They give me encouragement and they actually pray for my family. I am grateful for my friends. They definitely make life better. I hope I can be a continuous blessing to them.
