"Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth.  Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate." Psalm 127:3-5

Today is Father's Day. I'm grateful that my children have my husband as their father. Fatherhood is a blessing I didn't fully grasp until I became an adult. I always appreciated it but now with a new depth of gratitude.

1 • I'm grateful for the joy my husband displays as a father. It gives the children more than levity, it strengthens them. Joy helps us get through a lot of tough things in life.

2 • Zeke is a father who is present on purpose. His presence is powerful and unmistakable. The gift of presence is something you don't forget. It provides visual and internal security. It arms the heart with peace.

3 • I'm grateful for the many ways Zeke provides for our children. Provision is more than money. It is enabling a child to succeed. Zeke's provision knows no boundaries.

4 • Zeke has a keen perspective as a father. I can't begin to tell you how often his perspective in parenting helps me see what's right, good, and important.

5 • Zeke prays for his children constantly. He constantly asks God to bless them. I don't know a better thing to do for one's children. Prayer is one of the most lasting gifts a father can give his children.

6 • Zeke knows how to have fun with the kids. No matter how he spends time with them, they know it will be fun.

7 • The way Zeke practices Christian fatherhood is a blessing yet we are the ones who are incredibly blessed to experience his love.

Happy Father's Day!
