Surprise!

What did you do differently this time? This is the question a lot of WW coaches ask you when you tell them how your week went. I love reflecting. I find growth opportunities when I do. Here are my reflections about this past week on WW.

• I had a surprise party for my husband's birthday. I simplified the experience. Instead of feeding everyone (we all already had dinner and dessert that night), we sang happy birthday with his favorite pie and we saved it for another day. It was meaningful, sweet, and simple. No points needed.

• I was super stressed last week. I did everything I knew how to manage it. Thankfully, eating was not a tool I used. I was anticipating an event. I asked for help. Thank God, everything went as well as it could have been. I'm grateful that I no longer use food as a coping strategy with stress. What I did do was to stay in the gym, run outside, rest, and pray.

• Last weekend was a busy weekend for us. I took time to prep food for the weekend. I packed my lunch and the kids' lunch. I packed snacks. I stepped away to eat when it was time. I took water, coffee and a journal to write down any thoughts. It worked because we all had the energy we needed to do all the activities scheduled. Preparation is my superpower.

• I'm part of a leadership class in our area. They provide us with lunch but I've been packing my own lunch and snacks. This habit allows me to have the energy I need for a day of learning. I'm grateful for a friend I knew in TX who modeled this for me. She took her food any and everywhere she went. She met her goals because she was committed to the process. It can be done. It is not weird. It is a life promoting habit.

• I'm always amazed at how much I enjoy the foods I eat when I plan and prepare them ahead of time. I even included a few new dishes in our dinner menu. What a motivation to keep planning and prepping.

Next week is Thanksgiving week. I already pre-tracked my Thanksgiving Day meal. I also planned my activity per The Ranting Weight Watcher's Holiday Plan. Be sure to listen and Subscribe. This Podcast really helped me succeed!

• I tracked, weighed, measured. I added activity points. I'm determined to stay the course. I self-corrected when I needed this week. I did track everything and I don't see why I wouldn't. As The Ranting Weight Watcher says, "the truth is the best tool."

This week I lost 1.5 lbs. I'm grateful. I will reach my final goal. Here are the numbers:

Starting weight: 175 lbs

Current weight: 157 lbs (-18)

First Goal: 153.4 lbs (-3.6)

Second Goal: 146 lbs (-11)

Final Goal: 136 lbs (21)
