New Song

I am praying that God will give us all a new song for a new year.
I'm not sure how 2018 treated you.
I do know it wasn't an easy year for everyone.

The writer of psalm 40 starts his writing by telling us that He waited patiently for the Lord.
We all know what waiting feels like. The act of waiting is not always pleasant but the key thing is that God heard the cry of the writer.

God hears our cry. He sees us in our low state and He cares.
The question is, are we waiting patiently on the Lord?

The psalmist continues by saying:

"He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps." Psalm 40:2

Some of us know what it means to be in a horrible pit. What a joy it is to be brought out of it! God gets us out of the miry clay and sets our feet upon a rock. He establishes our steps.

Verse 3 says:

"He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord."

I believe 2019 will be the year God will put a new song in our mouth.
Only He can do such wonder for us.

I'm encouraged that when God does such a marvelous thing, many people will see, fear and they too will trust in the Lord.

Be encouraged my friend. God is for you. This year doesn't have to be like the last one. Trust in God, He will rescue you.
