What I Learned this Summer 2019

Thursday, August 29, 2019

1. There is no such thing as the perfect summer. Even in movies, there’s some type of conflict to be solved. Without conflict, there’s not resilience. We had a normal, perfect for us season.

2. I made a big reading mistake. I admitted my mistake, asked my kids for forgiveness and we moved on not to finish the library’s summer reading challenge. You can read all about it here.

3. Preparing, planning and expecting to win is a must. This summer went by so fast that if I had no plans, I wouldn’t get a lot accomplished. I wanted a summer where we would have the freedom to enjoy it while participating in a few activities. It was very refreshing.

4. Keep a clean heart. I can’t begin to tell you how important that is. Getting to the other side of forgiveness provides a purity in the heart that allows life to be easier.

5. Scents are a daily joy booster. I had the brilliant idea to buy a perfume I would wear as a teenager. My level of joy went sky high instantly. That scent brought me happy memories of home. I didn’t know that a simple perfume could be provide a touch of joy to regular days.

6. God hears our heart's prayers. I'm so glad He hears and answers prayers.
