Baby #3 (June 2012)

Weight on 8/28/12: 170.8 lbs
Current Weight: 143 lbs

One of the best lessons I've learned these past 15 months is 'be your own advocate.' I have experienced that everyone out there seems to have a goal and focus for my health so I need to be aware of my wellness goals. I'm married and we have 3 kids so my goal is to be fit to be a great wife and mother. I have learned that my body thrives in rest and recover so when I resume training I am incredibly more effective.
I don't believe in punishing myself with extremely intensive workouts simply because I don't want to be sore all the time. As a mother I spend my days happily carrying kids on my hip. Doing that while having intense muscle soreness does not work for me. I believe in pushing myself but not to the detriment of home life. I do believe that if I stay fit I don't have to get back into shape.
What I am trying to say is that I am trying to practice moderation in all things. I haven't been on a diet for a good 5 years, so it's very difficult for me to get back into that mindset. I know for a fact that I need great fuel in order to keep up with the demands of my daily life. It's important for me to eat the foods that will best help me with that goal. With God's help I've been able to have a healthy journey when it comes to food choices.
The application of Mind Renewal, Behavior Modification, Stress Management, Education and Flexibility have really helped me succeed in this area. I want you to know that no matter how many times you tried, you can succeed. Your health is important and God is more than willing to help you in your journey. Take small steps. Look forward to your goal. There are 15 weeks til the end of the year: what can you accomplish during this time? I believe you can improve your wellness by taking small steps.
