My weight loss in 60 seconds: Preparation

Wednesday, June 19, 2019

This is week 10 since I've been back to WW. My short-term goal is in sight.

We celebrated my daughter's birthday and Father's Day last week. Talk about having challenges to overcome when it comes to food! We're also in the full swing of summer. I decided to prepare well for the week. Here's what I did to succeed this week:
  • I prepared my clothes to exercise early in the morning.
  • I prepared my food, I packed it and took it to work.
  • I prepared my mind to succeed.
  • I tracked all my food daily.
I found out that I not only lost weight this week but I also reached by 10% weight loss goal with WW. I was thrilled! I knew I was going to hit my 10% goal at some point but achieving it this week was very encouraging.

One of my favorite quotes is by Juma Ikangaa. It says "the will do win means nothing without the will to prepare."

Preparation is the only way I can fit all my goals within my schedule. I can lie to myself and say I have not time to do all I do. I choose to truthfully prepare to succeed. My goal is this week is to hit my first goal and beyond if I can. I am positive that preparation will get me there.

There is nothing easy about shopping, preparing food, cooking and taking my food to work. It is way more difficult to remain overweight. With that in mind, I prepped a few protein and fruit "boxes" on Saturday and they have helped me a lot this week. I just added boiled eggs, fresh fruit and light cheese. I also packed a few whole grain crackers to eat along with them.

Outside of vacation, I don't know what it is to have "slow weeks." I have to prepare if I want to succeed. I do want to succeed.

What happens when I can't prep my food? I resort to making the best choices I can with what I have.

I'll stop for now. Here is my question: how can you prepare this week to succeed? Thank you for joining me in my health journey.
